Public Notice – November 25, 2021
Labrador-Grenfell Health is advising the public that the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccine program will continue with children ages 5 to 11 across the region. Following announcements of Health Canada’s approval of a Pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, planning is currently underway to begin offering vaccines for 5- to 11-year-olds across the region in the coming weeks. Individuals should regularly check for updates to the Labrador Grenfell Health COVID-19 Vaccine Portal at https://www.lghealth.ca/vaccine for information on when and where vaccine will be available for 5 to 11-year-olds in their community.
The vaccine will be offered to this priority group by appointments only (i.e., no walk-ins). The vaccine must be offered at least 2 weeks (14 days) after receiving another vaccine (i.e., the flu shot or school vaccines).
Vaccinations will be available in community and school-based clinics throughout the region. Letters will be sent home to all parents through schools in the upcoming days.
Detailed information about booking in your community is available online at https://www.lghealth.ca/vaccine
