Labrador-Grenfell Health reassuring public no cuts being made in the St. Anthony area

Public Notice – June 2, 2021

Labrador-Grenfell Health is aware of misinformation being circulated to the public regarding services to the St. Anthony area and we would like to reassure that there are no cuts being made to programs and services.

As part of its regular operations, Labrador-Grenfell Health assesses population needs and adjust services over the summer months to allow for employees to receive rest/break times. This includes working with leadership on-the-ground, regional programming, and tertiary sites to ensure we respond to and care for the population.

Additionally, no changes to ambulance services are being implemented and we continue to operate at full capacity throughout the St. Anthony area, including working with partners in St. Lunaire-Griquet.

Labrador-Grenfell Health would like to reaffirm that this is part of its normal process, in line with the other regional health authorities and does not take away from our ability to provide safe quality care to the population we serve.
