Labrador-Grenfell Health is excited to launch our Patient and Family Advisor program and encourages individuals who have received care as a patient /client/ resident or family member to volunteer and partner with us as a Patient and Family Advisor.
This volunteer program strives to build strong collaborative relationships between patients/ families and healthcare providers. Individuals can apply by calling 1-833-454-2772 or emailing pfa@lghealth.ca.
Patient and Family Advisors can have multiple roles in health care such as;
- Informing policy and program development to meet identified needs.
- Help with the design of new services and infrastructure to improve the patient and family experience.
Establishing a Patient Family Advisor Program is critical in supporting Labrador-Grenfell Health’s strategic priority of delivering Person and Family Centered Care which makes patients and family our priority through engagement and participation in decisions around healthcare. We are committed to providing respectful, compassionate, and culturally responsive care that meets the needs, values, and preferences of patients and their family members.
