Labrador-Grenfell Health is gradually resuming select health care services being provided at its facilities. Areas identified within the healthcare system which can gradually and safely begin to resume service across the province include medical imaging, endoscopy, cardiac diagnostic, and select surgical services.

Recognizing that this is a challenging time for all, we are reviewing patient lists to safely and efficiently address the needs of patients who have been waiting for procedures and appointments.

“As we enter public health alert level 4, we have been diligently planning for the increase of services throughout our region in collaboration with the Department of Health and Community Services, the other regional health authorities, and our staff,” said Heather Brown, President and CEO. “Our focus continues to be on the safety of all those who enter our facilities as patients, vendors or employees. We will proceed cautiously to manage the system by prioritizing services as we continue to monitor COVID-19.”

As services gradually resume, Labrador-Grenfell Health will continue to ensure that sufficient resources, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and bed capacity, are closely monitored. Adequate supplies of these resources are required to manage and maintain surge capacity.

Patients will be contacted directly by their health care provider to schedule appointments. Patients with questions or concerns about their health are advised to contact their health care provider. To reduce the spread of Covid-19 and conserve PPE, many health care providers are offering virtual care options such as phone or video conference appointments.

Measures are in place to protect individuals when entering our facilities. Upon entry, the public will be screened for COVID-19 through a series of questions and be provided a mask. We remind the public to practice physical distancing while in our facilities.
