Labrador-Grenfell Health is a scent-free environment. Please do not wear scented products such as perfumes, after shave, etc. It can cause serious allergic reactions such as breathing problems.
Cellular phones are permitted in the hospital, provided they don’t cause a threat to the safety of clients, staff, or the operation of highly-sensitive medical equipment. When using a wireless device, individuals must comply with generally accepted “rules of etiquette” for their use. These include turning off the ring-tones and placing it in vibrate mode, keeping the volume at a minimum, speaking softly, as well as maintaining fair distance from other people in the area.
There are phones at the bedside for patient use.
Labrador-Grenfell Health is a “smoke-free” environment. The smoke-free policy applies to our owned and operated facilities and properties, including the exterior grounds, parking areas and vehicles (corporate and private vehicles on the premises). Therefore, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Labrador West Health Centre property/grounds. Supports are available to you during your stay, including referral to smoking cessation programs and nicotine replacement therapy, if appropriate. For more information, please speak with your nurse or doctor.
